Description:
A happy horticultural New Year to you all.

HortSoc would like to thank everyone for their support of our stall at the Christmas Fayre, whether donating items, manning the stall or purchasing items. This helped us raise funds towards running the Summer Flower Show.

While this is generally a fairly dormant time in the garden the committee have been active finalising a busy schedule for this year and the first event is an illustrated talk on ‘Photography’ by Geoff Meadowcroft on 15th March. Geoff, who is judge at the Flower Show and the Calendar Competition, will hold a question time to answer all your photographic queries.

Following the success of our inaugural Spring Flower Show this event will be held again on Saturday 26th March in the Church Hall – full details and an entry form are on our website w ww.naylandhortsoc.org.uk. We would be very grateful for donations of cakes, or prizes for the raffle – please drop them into 60 Bear Street beforehand or at the Church Hall early on the day of the show.
Entries for the show should be brought along between 8.15am-9am as judging will need to take place before the public display and coffee morning opens at 10am. Winners of each class will be awarded a certificate.

Membership for 2011 is now available and amazing value at just £2 for single or £3 for joint membership. Application forms are available on our website or at any of our events.

Following the popularity of our first coach outing another is planned, this time to Great Dixter House & Gardens and Merriments Gardens on 7th June – further details and a booking form can be found on our website w ww.naylandhortsoc.org.uk. This is open to all, not just HortSoc members, so please spread the word and invite your friends. That said, these are renowned garden venues which we believe will be very popular so book early to avoid disappointment.

We have introduced a few new classes to our Annual Flower Show on 6th August – schedules are being finalised and will be available in mid March.
