| | May 11, 2012 - 11:05 PM Kevin Smith from United States redksmith@yahoo.com Love this site! I decided to look up Charles Gumm after my wife informed me that the wood swing we have on our front porch was made by Charles as a high school project and carried bundled on his back to shop class.. Charles was my mother in-laws uncle. I had no idea he was such a great man.. It truly was the greatest generation. I've always had a fascination for WWII aircraft and I'm currently building a scale WWII Seafury RC plane. Our porch swing will always be special area of our home now that I have this wonderful story to share! | |
| | April 19, 2012 - 07:56 AM Ruth Patterson from United Kingdom Email I am looking for my ancestor, Shubael Stearns who left Nayland to the colonies in 1630. He had a wife Mary and 2 sons, Charles age 10 and Nathaniel, age 8.
Shubael and his family travelled with Charles and his family and Daniel Stearns who was single. They left from Yarbrough.
If anyone has ideas for local records of that time for the Nayland area, I would appreciate it.
Thanks. Ruth Stearns Patterson | |
| | January 19, 2012 - 11:28 AM SUSAN SALTI from United Kingdom Email I am planning to visit Nayland in the summer holidays to try and piece together my family history. My Great great grandfather was Henry Augustus Johnson who was a farmer in Nayland, he had a daughter Mabel, born 1873-75. But apart from this info I can find nothing about the Johnsons on any ancestry website until Mabel married my great grandfather in London in 1889, any help would be most appreciated. | |

| October 04, 2010 - 09:18 PM Corinne Hursk from United Kingdom corinnewheeler@btinternet.com Delightful website discovered when looking at places my ancestors lived and worked. William Hursk was baptised 1820 in Boxted, Mother Sarah, but some documents say he comes from Nayland so thought I'd take a look. My thanks to those who take the time to share all the rich knowledge for us all to see. | |
